Responsibilities

As the Global PMO Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the success of IONWAY’s strategic initiatives. Leading a high-performing team of project managers, you will oversee a global portfolio of key projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and delivering measurable impact. You will also take the lead on select high-priority projects, while establishing and guiding best practices in strategic planning and risk management. This is a unique opportunity to influence the direction of a growing international organization and drive operational excellence at scale.

  • Lead and continuously improve the Global PMO function to ensure strategic alignment and operational excellence.
  • Manage and mentor a team of project managers, fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and professional growth.
  • Oversee a diverse portfolio of strategic projects, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, timeline, and quality standards.
  • Personally lead selected high-impact projects, driving cross-functional collaboration and measurable business outcomes.
  • Provide governance, oversight, and executive-level reporting across all major initiatives.
  • Design, implement, and manage frameworks for strategic planning, project delivery, and risk management.
  • Proactively identify risks and roadblocks; implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
  • Coordinate regular reviews and decision-making processes for the Board of Directors (BoD) and Board of Management (BoM).
  • Define, standardize, and enforce best practices in project and risk management across the organization.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • 20+ years of progressive experience in international PMO leadership or consultancy, with a strong track record in project financing and leading high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in the industrial sector, ideally in chemicals or automotive.
  • Expertise in strategic planning, project portfolio management, and risk governance, combined with solid financial and business acumen.
  • Proven ability to balance detail orientation with big-picture thinking in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic and results-driven mindset.
  • Capable of managing multiple complex projects across geographies and functions.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials preferred.
  • Strong alignment with IONWAY values.
